I am not surprised that England failed yet again because we have in the FA people with no or limited brains.
Why cannot lessons be learned?
We started with Gaza in tiers, followed with Beckham red card, followed with missed penalties since 1996 (at the time defender and current manager Garratt Southgate missed the penalty back in 1996 when he was already 26 years of age), and going on and on.
Back in 2021 I wrote about Southgate who did not achieve anything as a player or even less as manager in his life ENGLAND OUT - AGAIN ...England 1-2 France - FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 (mercator.direct) and he was given again and again approval from the FA to be the manager - for what? Licking somebodies arses?
My grandma would win on the last 3 occasions if she would not be dead and be a manager of such talented squads.
The FA is the same as the arrogant new owner of my beloved club Chelsea Football Club. I offered him help to sort the managerial role and to buy players which CFC needs. Instead of getting a tiny thank you from Todd Boehly, Boehly rather named stupid managers, and splash millions buying players who cannot deliver. For me no brain teaser, but was and still is with the owner of CFC and his 9 directors.
When will FA finally have someone with the brains???
I can already see another conspiracy theory from FA. They will either go with Southgate further or they will consider one of two other losers who cannot get a proper one job. I am talking about Potter and Lampard. Either of them would be wrong.
Graham Potter has no knowledge of football while Frank Lampard is all about him - his ego and if England national squad once come to the top - all would be just about Lampard and very little or nothing about the players. That's how Lampard will garnish the media along with his partner.
Make no mistakes, FA, the England team and especially Gareth Soutgate you all should be ashamed! You let the country down again!
England was in group with no real opponent, and all that England had to do was to deliver on the only one game - in the final.
In the other group were nations like Germany, France, Italy, ..., Spain, while England's group was like walking into the park Slovenia (Slovenia has 59,344 registered players - all ages both men and women), not much better Slovakia, ..., Holland.
My neighbour was telling me how perfect the game against Holland was. As I was not watching the game, and don't want to comment if not seen, the next day I turned on Gary Neville's commentary. In his TV commentary, Neville stated that the penalty for England was not a penalty (very soft decision) and that the referee did not even bother himself to go to the monitor to check it despite being told and suggested to go by the VAR room. Even more, Neville claimed that Holland should have had a penalty when Stones dragged Holland attacker to the grass in a rugby manner.
Thank you to Cole Palmer for a goal, being on the pitch 3 minutes as he was not Garratt Southgate's choice. If he would be on the entire game on, he would deliver as he delivered for Chelsea FC nearly always. But it is better as it is, that he did not save Southgate's ass.
Having an FA without brains, the loser in a manager with no brain for tactics, England have a team of 26 carat plonkers. This team was nearly perfect, just a manager with the brains needed what was not expected to be delivered with Southgate who has limited or no knowledge about football. Southgate, if you would be a man and having just a tiny bit of pride, you would quit a long time ago. Quitting now would be a positive gesture of yours that you finally realise how bad of a coach you really are and how damaging your managerial role was. Shame on you!

Ps: The only one FA should consider would be Thomas Tuchel, if he would be so kind to do it, after being unfairly sacked by the new owner of Chelsea Football Club Todd Boehly! This is the manager who has knowledge of football, who knows English football, who delivered European Championship title to Chelsea FC in first year, who kept Chelsea FC together during the government sanction's against Roman Abramovich, previous owner, this is the manager who has desire, ability, knowledge and can deal with the egos in the squad. Someone like Jurgen Klopp is dear to dream!
