WON 20 TROPHIES IN HIS 10-years TENURE WITH MANCHESTER CITY

With the last game in Premier League 2025/26 there were straight changes with managerial positions in quite a few clubs. Four managers part with clubs voluntarily because they have enough behind the scenes games, twelve were sacked: Nuno Espirito Santo (Nottingham Forest), Graham Potter (West Ham), Ange Postecoglou (Nottingham Forest), Vitor Pereira (Wolves), Enzo Maresca (Chelsea), Ruben Amorim (Manchester United), Thomas Frank (Tottenham Hotspur), Sean Dyche (Nottingham Forest), Igor Tudor (Tottenham Hotspur), Liam Rosenior (Chelsea), Scott Parker (Burnley) and Arne Slot (Liverpool).
Voluntary exit chose Pep Guardiola (Manchester City), Marco Silva (Fulham), Oliver Glasner (Crystal Palace) and Andoni Iraola (Bournemouth).
I liked Pep, Marco and Oliver. Especially Pep because he imposed in game with his Manchester City so many new things which all inspired all other managers in our division. Whatever he started with, others copied. His prerogative was for example that goalkeeper can be used as a player and not just as goalkeeper what made difference also with defence instead 4 was now just 3. For this reason he replaced goalkeeper Joe Hart who was a shot-stopper goalkeeper with Ederson who was comfortable with his feets. This for example was copied by Chelsea FC manager Antonio Conte who ditched 4 defenders imposed by previous manager Guus Hidding and Chelsea FC won the Premier League title.
Pep's innovation was also "inverted full backs" where defenders stepping out of defence and push to centre midfield where eminent player was eg. John Stone.
Pep's innovation was also centralized playmakers where he stretched wingers to central half-spaces. Typical examples of this were Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva.
On top of which his tactic was also to accommodate the forward as much as possible where the number of goals of Erling Haaland speaks for itself.
Pep Guardiola won 20 trophies in his 10-years tenure with Manchester City: 6x Premier League, 5x League Cup, 3x FA Cup, 1x FA Community Shield, 1x UEFA Champions League Cup, 1x UEFA Super Cup and 1x FIFA Club World Cup.
The question for some remains: Who was better manager Alex Ferguson or Pep Guardiola? For me, without any shadow of the doubt PEP GUARDIOLA is the clear winner here who was made from "noisy neighbours" named by Alex Ferguson of Manchester United, an elite football machine - Manchester City.
Pep's legacy for me is complete "reincarnation" of British football. He made the Premier League the best and the toughest league in Europe. Thank you Pep!
