THERE IS LEGAL AND FINANCIAL RISK DOING THIS NOT TO MENTION POSSIBLE RUSSIAN RETALIATION

The US wants to use the frozen Russian state funds for a Ukraine deal. What a joke!
The European Union is discussing how Russian assets in the EU can be used for Ukraine aid.
Here are two scenarios: On one hand the “US Scenario” where they want to get from EU 300 billion euros which US need to restructure their own industry. They said that they will give Ukraine long distance missiles that they can target Russia. Oops, how the long distance missiles will redevelop Ukraine? Perhaps Trump will offload some “old equipment” to Ukraine and that is it. However, Trump have a huge problem, whether this is even possible without consultation with the EU. On the other hand, Von der Leyen presents plan for the use of Russian assets.
Belgium reacts frustrated, Chancellor Merz exerts pressure. The European Union is discussing how Russian assets in the EU can be used for Ukraine aid. EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has now presented a concrete proposal, a two-year plan to finance Ukraine.
The concept presented in Brussels provides for the use of central bank funds set in the EU for loans of up to 210 billion euros to Ukraine. Their financial requirements were recently estimated at 135.7 billion euros for the next two years alone. According to the Commission, up to 90 billion euros could come from the so-called reparations loan by the end of 2027. "Since pressure is the only language to which the Kremlin reacts, we can also increase it," von der Leyen said. She had presented the plan to US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent, who had "received it positively". Who wouldn't?!
Make no mistake, citing EU officials, in addition to France, Sweden and Cyprus, Germany is also a possible donor of Russian state assets. However, most of the money is said to be in France. The Russian central bank assets managed by the Belgian financial institution Euroclear are valued at around 185 billion euros.
What are the alternatives? As an alternative to the plan, von der Leyen also presented a concrete proposal for taking on new EU debt for Ukraine. However, numerous countries such as Germany reject this and are counting on breaking Belgium's resistance to the use of Russian funds.
The Belgian government has so far justified its rejection with legal and financial risks, and from my point of view, they are perfectly correct having in mind the danger that Russia could retaliate and expropriate European private individuals and companies in Russia. In order to alleviate the Belgian government's concerns, von der Leyen has now also presented proposals for protective mechanisms. However, the details are to be announced only after consultations with the member states.
Belgium, however, expressed its rejection. "We have the frustrating feeling that we have not been heard. Our concerns are being downplayed," Foreign Minister Maxime Prevot said on the sidelines of a NATO meeting. Belgium is demanding legal and financial guarantees from EU partners in the event of lawsuits or court-ordered repayment to Russia. In addition, other countries holding Russian assets would also have to participate.
We have to stand on our own legs. 300 billion euros is a lot of money. I would never ever surrender this money to Trump. It is time to reject Trump policies and go further with own vision how to protect Europe from all invaders: The silly Trump US, or perhaps Russia and even all other countries from where the immigrants are coming from. They must not exercise any further generosity of Europe and United Kingdom as they were doing till now.
Europe and the United Kingdom are not playground of any kind for "invaders" like US who want not to have just Venezuela (the second larger producer of crud fossil fuel - only Russia is larger) but also Greenland and even less escape for invasion of immigrants. You have your lands wherever it is, stay there and sort out your political issues in your country and stop demonstrating in our countries in Europe and in the United Kingdom.
