"L" for LOOSER
On July 14, 2021 I wrote in the blog “BACKLASH OVER ABUSE OF FOOTBALERS – THE GARETH SOUTHGATE CALAMITY SAGA” as follows: - Finally, going back to Southgate. It was Gareth Southgate who chose the players and not Priti Patel or Boris Johnson. Taking my politics hat off and my football cap on, people who know and understand football were all collectively shocked at the line up for penalties. Sancho and Rashford were both players who never even kicked a ball in the game, were left with one kick on the biggest stage at the most critical of moments. Also, Saka who had a great game was given the ‘final’ penalty as a 19 year old. Every football mind knows your most confident and experienced man should be taking a penalty that colossally important. My point is not that Southgate enabled the racist abuse, that would be very improper to suggest, but let me make it clear that he set that team up to fail, he let down his players.
Therefore, Southgate let down the British people in 2021. More than year ago, I stated clearly that Southgate did not achieve anything in his football career. Don’t judge on qualification! What we have to play against was like walking into the park and with the team on his disposal my “grandma” would qualify for the World Cup 2022.
I was even more disquieted to find out that FA gave him job till 2024. I am lost, and in dark! Who on earth is behind all this charade?
Complete looser: - from missing the penalty, to be relegated with every club, did not win Euro even less the World Cup.
