Another dodge and creasy decision of the co-owner of CFC Todd Boehly

I am speechless! Despite that I wrote an open letter to Todd Boehly to not make another crazy decision with the appointment of new CFC head coach his foolishness has no ending.
Let me make just few points:
What is Pochettino's legacy?
None! He was sacked by every club he managed:
- Espanyol coach - sacked
- Tottenham coach - sacked
- PSG coach - sacked!
Boehly sacked very good coach Thomas Tuchel and replaced him with coaches who have no clues how to win titles and silverware: Starting with Potter, replace him with another disaster Lampard and now – Pochettino. In my open letter to Boehly, I offered Boehly to apologise to Tuchel on behalf of CFC (if he don't want to apologise personally) and get him back.
Potter has done nothing in his coaching career (apart in Sweden many years ago in division which has no comparison not even with our Championship league and not even League one. All he managed to do was to keep Brighton in the premier league not to be relegated – and that is it.
Who replaced him there? Roberto De Zerbi. The 43 years old Italian coach who has passion and knowledge about football got Brighton for the first time in Brighton history to the European league. He demonstrated the quality of his coaching by beating Arsenal yesterday 14 May 2023 in the stadium of Arsenal 0:3 and by this defeat Arsenal’s hope of winning the title this year are more than just slim. There was a huge celebration at Brighton to sell player Cucurella, the coaches and Potter to Chelsea. Happy days at Brighton to get rid of rubbish! Damage for Chelsea? On quick counting the damage with this appointment was £340m (perhaps a tiny bit less).
Lampard is yet another coach without knowledge of how to win titles and silverware. Sank the Everton, he received reward and was appointed as interim CFC head coach. Lessons have not been learned by Boehly!
How is Everton doing with new coach after Lampard – Sean Dyche? Superb! Last game they won against Brighton 1:5 at Brighton stadium. The same Brighton who beat Arsenal yesterday (14 May 2023) easily. This was Everton's biggest away win and left hopes for Everton to stay in the league.
And now – new era – Pochettino who won the only silverware in his life being “luckily” head coach of PSG.
All three coaches – losers! As Tottenham coach Pochettino lost all games against Chelsea.
Being out since last summer just tells everyone that he is NOT the elite coach, the elite coaches do not wait for calls for a new job a year! Simply, they don’t! How quick Tuchel got the job with Bayern Munich? Nearly instantly, would be there even earlier if Tuchel would not be waiting on Todd Boehly to apologize him and reinstate him as CFC head coach.
Boehly, you gave top managerial positions to two managers to redeem themselves, completely the same is with Pochettino. Sacked in every job (apart at Southampton).
I do not (as many of Chelsea supporters) agree with Gary Neville (Sky Sport pundit) that Pochettino is the right man to take charge on a permanent basis at Stamford Bridge on the basis of the profile of players Chelsea have signed. "Based on what Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has said, Chelsea have done their spending for the next three years - apart from signing a centre-forward," Neville told Sky Sports recently. He was going further "If they appoint Zinedine Zidane, Luis Enrique or Diego Simeone, they're going to want to have another £300m as they won't like some of the players they've previously signed. They've got to appoint a manager who is going to inherit and like the squad that they've got - a lot of them are young - and I think that man is Mauricio Pochettino."
How wrong Gary Neville is! He same as Paul Merson (see previous blog) - both don't want Chelsea to get good even less very good manager! That would be killer for Man United and Arsenal! Paul Merson I believe you are aware now that this year was the ONLY year to be contender to win the league. Next year Arsenal and Man United must count on Liverpool, Newcastle and even Chelsea (if CFC land proper manager) to be in the line for Champion League places and with this comes as well battle for the title.
It is my assumption that Pochettino offered and gave a promise that he will land Harry Kane as new number 9 for CFC. This would not be a good scenario at all. Kane is already in years where all he is looking for is how to “retire” with as much money as possible and if any silverware comes along – would be handy. There are 4 existing strikers of which 2 have better results as Haaland (Man City). All 4 are 6-8 years younger.
It is clear that Chelsea have agreed a deal to appoint former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as their next head coach. The 51-year-old Argentine, who is set to return to the Premier League after being sacked by Chelsea London rivals Spurs in November 2019, will take over from caretaker manager Frank Lampard at the end of this season and an announcement is expected later this week. Pochettino's trusted backroom staff of Jesus Perez, Toni Jimenez, Miguel D'Agostino and son Sebastiano Pochettino are all set to join him at Stamford Bridge. Pochettino will permanently succeed Graham Potter, who was dismissed at the start of April after less than seven months in charge.
Pochettino has been out of work since being sacked by Paris Saint-Germain last summer after 18 months in charge of the French side, having guided them to the Ligue 1 title in 2022 and the French Cup the year before. The ex-Espanyol boss managed Spurs for five years from May 2014 but failed to win a trophy at the north London club.
He led them to the 2019 Champions League final, which they lost to Liverpool, and also guided them to the 2015 League Cup final and a second-place finish in the 2016/17 Premier League season, with Chelsea winning both competitions.
"There is still the formal sign-off to come but that is expected to be a formality now that this agreement has been reached. And it is quite surreal, with it being a manager, certainly in English football, who is associated with Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea's rivals.
Mauricio Pochettino knows that he will have a big job on his hands at Chelsea with "rebuilding". The squad is huge, the numbers need to come well down. We also heard Harry Kane talk this week about the values that were created under Mauricio Pochettino, and that is something that he has, you would say, as his biggest strength. He knows how to bring a group of players together. He is very much a people person, somebody who can galvanise and work with what he has got. Completely the same was said for Potter.
Chelsea have spent a large amount of money, but he will have money to spend as well you would expect to tweak and add further strength in certain positions. But what has become clear over the last few weeks is that he will be the next Chelsea manager, and it appears now that Chelsea have got their man.
Todd Boehly, please don’t be foolish again, do NOT sign Pochettino!
The new table of "super" Lampard managerial performance upon manage to win 1 game of 10:
With CFC 1st time | With Everton | With CFC currently | |
---|---|---|---|
Won | 2 | 1 | 1 |
Drawn | 1 | 2 | 2 |
Lost | 7 | 14 | 6 |
Scored | 9 | 11 | 7 |
Conceded | 15 | 33 | 15 |
Win Rate | 20% | 6% | 10% |
Which players I offered Todd Boehly to sell to balance the books (buyers ready to go):
Player Name | Selling Price +/-10% | Loan Price per Season | Loan Period Max Years |
---|---|---|---|
Cesar Azpilicueta | £8m | - | - |
Christian Pulisic | £30m | £7m | 2 Years |
Conor Gallagher | £40m | £8m | 2 Years |
Hakim Ziyach | £22m | £8m | 2 Years |
Kai Havertz | £68m | £12m | 3 Years |
Kepa Arrizabalaga | £25m | £6m | 2 Years |
Marc Cucurella | £42m | £8m | 4 Years |
Mateo Kovacic* | £42m | £8m | 2 Years |
Ruben Loftus Cheek | £24m | £6m | 3 Years |
N'Golo Kante* | £24m | £6m | 2 Years |
Pierre-E.Aubameyang | £8m | £2m | - |
Romelu Lukaku | £58m | £8m | 2 Years |
** | - | - | - |
Total: | £395m | £79m |
*Not playing in Europe for next 2 years CFC do not need services of Kovacic and Kante what is the reason to sell it now. All the above players have possibility to be sold to the clubs which are not in any threats to CFC next season.
As per my previous open letter to Todd Boehly I have 2 special goalkeepers in my sleeve (price £10m each). Both miles better than Kepa and Mandy. Have also 4 special forwards of which 2 have better results as Haaland had.
Both keepers and both #9 I can sign without any problems. For forwards £30m and £32m on 5+1 year contract minimum.
Todd Boehly you get Declan Rice from Hammers, I will get you 2+2 as written above and to get rid of the payers from the table.
**From the rest of the squad (players on loans) I can sell 8 at present without any problems (so far).
