Sunak to protect Boris’s WhatsApps or to protect himself and the rest of the Cabinet of doing whatever "wrong" during the Covid and public should not to know any of it?

Ministers have launched an unprecedented high court attempt to avoid handing over Boris Johnson’s unredacted WhatsApp messages and diaries to the government-commissioned public inquiry into the handling of Covid.
This is extraordinary, there's no other way to describe it. The government taking an inquiry that they set up and gave powers to court because it's saying it's over state stepping those powers that it gave it and so it it's an extraordinary struggle, Number 10 and Cabinet Office were briefing that it was really they were trying to protect Boris Johnson.
Boris Johnson yesterday coming out and saying I'm perfectly happy for everything to be published in fact I will give it to the inquiry directly.
If you don't and that really set the “cat amongst the pigeons” so the Cabinet Office, then had only two options to either:
- Comply with a deadline and or
- To go to court and seek judicial review.
And here is a supreme irony - to invoking the Human Rights Act which up until really a couple of months ago it was this government policy to repeal that Act and not only are they invoking that acting breaking powers that flow from Article 8 of the European Convention of human rights which is the one they constantly says causing them huge amounts of trouble with lefty lawyers are using it to obstruct what the state wants to do and there they are now they have found their own “lefty lawyers” and their taking effectively another expression of the state that they created to court in order to avoid handing over this stuff.
I mean it is simply extraordinary, if there's nothing to hide why don't you want these messages really to put in the public domain?
I will never certainly angles to the story, it will be just another cower-up. If you got nothing to hide, publish them, and the fact that Boris Johnson saying something different from the government and he's saying he's happy to give these messages to the inquiry is yet to do so and some of his messages I am certain will disclose how pathetic and disorganized all was done during the Covid on top of which and how many people connected with the government or relatives profiteering from it splashing billions to their pockets.
I think we'll come on to that later (allegedly), it is because they have something to hide or is there precedent what I doubt.
There is now the problem for the government. If they allow these messages unredacted so the messages and they may have to do that if the judicial review is not successful, it sets a precedent for serving ministers including the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to do the same!
You can start to see how they would argue that these messages are not specifically related to the COVID inquiry so let's them wiped out.
I think you could enter a scenario where ultimately this current saga create suppressor and will not having to hand over all the messages for the inquiry and it will not be quite strange that we will come to the point where nobody will become a guilty party, nobody will go on a court despite over 250,000 people died and billions gone to someone's pockets.
