THE WORST NATURAL DISASTER IN THE HISTORY of SLOVENIA
SO FAR 6 PEOPLE HAVE DIED IN DEVASTATING FLOODING

Slovenia is struggling with the worst natural disaster in the history of the country, which has been independent since 1991. The damage quoted by the Slovenian government is estimated at more than €500 million, mainly affecting the road and energy infrastructure as well as hundreds of residential buildings. Many villages are cut off from the outside world by the water and debris. Helpers are providing thousands of necessities by helicopter. The high soil moisture makes landslides more likely, warned the Geological Survey of Slovenia. At least six towns in mountainous regions were still in acute danger on Sunday.
Folowing the severe flooding, Slovenia is facing extensive infrastructure repairs. The country is counting on international aid for this. There is still a threat of landslides, similar in Austria and Italy as well as Croatia where the flood alerts also applyies. In view of the devastating floods and landslides of the last three days, Slovenia has asked the EU and NATO for technical assistance to repair the damage as reported by the Slovenian news agency STA. Slovenia requested excavators of various capacities as well as special vehicles for regulating watercourses, as well as the dispatch of engineering teams for all this equipment. There was also request for over 20 prefabricated bridges of up to 40 meters in length. The country also requested military helicopters with a carrying capacity of at least five tons for transport.
Help is coming from many different sources - even from the countries which are also effected by the flooding like Austria and Germany.
Make no mistakes, I offered to Prime Minister of Slovenia and Mayor of Ljubljana full support to get all the necessary equipment and to cover the balance of the bill what they will not be getting from the EU despite that both, the prime minister and mayor of Ljubljana did not reacted on several issues I opened not so fare ago (How pathetic, people are swearing being Slovenian, but when is needed to show and stand to be Slovenian and to do something or whatever for the nation they cannot stand to be Slovenian at all!).
No official reply from the above named yet what is not surprise for me as they are working and dealing on the basis of the "party colours". Both above named prime minister R Golob and mayor Z Jankovic are part of ex communist party and they "switch to the new parties & colours" as the "wind blows" and to fools the nation despite that under the skin is still "one the same old party" with the leader in shadow, while I was and still I am with the same party).
The point I am trying to make is that in such situation we all should be working together and stand up as one, and not being divided because of political or other issues which might separate us.
Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected, and our heartfelt thanks to all those helping with the relief effort.
