IS LABOUR WRONG OR ARE THEY RIGHT? THEY ARE 100% CORRECT!

An advert Labour tweeted claiming that Rishi Sunak doesn't believe adults convicted of sexually assaulting children should be jailed sparked quite astonishing backlash!
I am completely puzzled. On whichever programme (radio or TV or even on “independent” Sky News) I turned on, all commentators agreed: The Conservatives and Rishi Sunak as party leader and Prime Minister are doing more than just well and how “spotless” they are.
Well, all commentators are wrong!
Not long ago former PM Boris Johnson attacked opposition leader Sir Keir Starmer not prosecute Jimmy Savile. No newspapers, radio or TV accused former PM “Bojo” about the attack despite that Starmer was not even having a chance to start with prosecution as he was taken away from the case on first place.
If I am going back to the tweet about the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak well, where the Labour part clearly saying that they have found new figures through looking at the government's own figures about the levels of serious offences that have not resulted in custodial sentences. The fact is offences related to child abuse. Labour found that over recent years over 4600 adults have escaped custodial sentence despite they've been found guilty of child abuse, and they have also found that over 16,000 people been convicted of a producing or sharing child pornography material has have also escaped custodial sentence.
This is because of a real deep-rooted problem in our criminal justice system at the moment for which obviously the Prime Minister of the country is responsible doesn’t matter from which angle you are looking at. Quick overview of those figures, it is right to can say under the Tories approx. 4600 adults convicted of sexually assaulting children serve no prison time.
It is also very radicicolous claims from commentators that eg. 2010 Rishi Sunak wasn't even Prime Minister at that time.
If I am not mistaken Rishi Sunak is not in the government from “yesterday” – before being elected by Tories for PM, Sunak was Chancellor of Exchequer which is very “senior” job in the government. Not even to mention that Rishi appointed for Deputy PM position Dominic Raab who is responsible for Justice system anyway. Or perhaps Dominic Raab does not pay attention to sexual abusers because he has to defence 24 allegations he is investigated for.
The figures taken in consideration by the Labour are from the year Tories are in government, therefore applied for the period of 13 years doesn’t matter who the PM is/was!
With this tweet Labour just want to highlight to public that what Tories are saying is not what they promised, and it is completely correct that someone point to the Tories records when it comes to sentence and what is happening in our criminal justice system. I think it's really important that opposition (doesn’t matter from which party coming out) are using these figures today to highlight these structural and very profound problems in the criminal justice system which has:
- Massive backlog in the courts which majority predates that the pandemic because the Conservative government chose to close down over 200 of our courts.
- We got very high reoffending rates because the Conservative government chose to privatise information service and
- Also, because the result of all of that we've got overflowing and full prisons.
So, what is happening is, judges and those in the criminal justice system are not able to give out custodial sentence, because the system is broken, there are no places in the prisons and these are very serious questions which Prime Minister should answer and act on.
Labour takes this as it’s a digital graphic, highlighting a particular story which the Prime Minister used himself many times in recent months.
The Labour tweet just highlight how one of his (Rishi Sunak) own policies even isn't working under his own watch not to mention that he's responsible - for the criminal justice. Rishi Sunak should doing instead of political campaigning (what he is doing last 10 days) to solve the problems we are currently in.
I am aware that Labour tweet won't be to everybody at taste but what's the important issue here is what lies beneath which I think will be of real important to readers and viewers which is that we do have serious criminals now almost routinely getting more lenient custodial sentences than they would otherwise do because the system is creaking at the knees.
What lies beneath is the sentence in guidelines about the capacity in the system to actually implement those guidelines so when you've huge backlog which is if I am not mistaken over 62,000+ cases currently not moved anywhere. If the system wants to deal with that backlog the government needs to sort of getting things through the system faster.
On the other hand, when you got judges faced with wanting to give custodial sentences knowing that prisons are completely full they are making judgements on that basis around the prison capacity and whether they can actually enforce those custodial sentences, what at present, they cannot.
So, if the system as a whole it's not a particular issue around sentence and guidelines that is meaning that the figures Labour tweet produced today and many other figures along with much more evidence that there is out at the moment that what we're finding is that that people are seemingly getting off lightly for what I think most people would regard as very serious offences (child abuse, child pornography) and I am, like Lucy Powell MP completely comfortable with it with no worries and in the end of the day the tweet gone out as Labour political campaign.
Commentators doesn’t matter whether with newspapers, radio or TV should be more transparent and with no appreciation of any party at all – they should be independent completely.
Nevertheless, I admired Lucy Powell MP coming on TV straight away (LIVE) after tweet posted and give her honest answer what could not be the case with majority Conservative MP’s including PM Rishi Sunak.
Just ask yourself how Tori MP's fight without any shame not to mention being completely disrespectful to the public about "PARTYGATE at #10" and whether or not PM Boris Johnson did lie or not to Parliament.
Even Dominic Raab tried to defend un-defendable saying on TV "That Boris Johnson was honest as much he could be anyway". What an comment from Deputy Prime Minister! [My personal understanding of his comment was, that he (Dominic Raab) knows that Prime Minister Boris Johnson lied and that he always lies. That was my understanding and the same of many others].
