4th TIME ON A ROLL - WITH INJURY AFFECTING DURING THE SEASON, THIS TRIUMPH HAS BEEN A REAL SQUAD EFFORT.

Chelsea Women have been crowned Women’s Super League champions for the fourth successive season – and become the first club to achieve that feat since the inception of the WSL in 2010. Today is all about our Women’s Super League triumph; the sixth in our increasingly illustrious history. Hayes and her players have navigated a hectic fixture schedule – intensified by a backlog of games due to our progression in the Champions League and the Conti Cup – and again come through as England’s best.
Since the shock opening-day defeat at Liverpool in September, Chelsea women have won 19 of 21 fixtures and dropped just five points. High standards have been maintained throughout and when the going has got tough, the Blues dug deep.
A late equaliser at Arsenal by Sam Kerr, one of the stars of the campaign, springs to mind. As does the gritty 1-0 home win over Manchester United, the side that emerged as Chelsea closest challengers for the title.
With injury afflicting several key figures during the season, this triumph has been a real squad effort, something Hayes has underlined at regular intervals throughout the campaign. Every player is worthy of this title win, which ensures an epic campaign will live long in the memory of supporters.
However there is a big work to be done for Hayes if she wants Chelsea women to do the same next season. Two key players end the season (Harder and captain Erikkson) therefore new investment into key players will be needed to win the Champions League as well but I do not believe that current owners with Todd Boehly in charge have a clue what to do and whether he will be willing to spend some money for buying players. What I would like to see in Chelsea women club would be support to Sam Kerr with player like Alessia Russo. Hayes will have difficult job to do with rebuild the squad even more as Man United, Man City, Arsenal and Aston Villa will be hard opponents and they all already announced to improve their squads for next season.
It was not a surprise that Sam Kerr has been picked by supporters as Chelsea Women Player of the Season for the second consecutive year, as well as receiving the Chelsea Women Players' Player of the Season award from her fellow Blues!

Congratulations to everyone at Chelsea Women!
